Growth into a new market

How can an established technology company step into a new market? For 20 years, Thelma Biotel has developed advanced wireless sensor technology and underwater communications for wildlife and wild fish tracking. The company has had a strong position in the research market, but wanted to explore new growth opportunities in aquaculture. To succeed in this market expansion, they engaged Kadabra as a partner. Our mission was to help Thelma Biotel identify, test and realize new commercial opportunities.

  • Product and concept development: We developed and validated new product concepts aimed at aquaculture, with close testing against the market.

  • Execution Capability Analysis: We assessed the company's technical, commercial and organizational capacity, identifying critical gaps with associated measures.
  • Pricing models and business case: Through collaboration with Inaq, we developed models that documented profitability and value for customers.
  • Go-To-Market Strategy: We prepared a clear entry strategy and roadmap for commercialization in the aquaculture market.

In this project, we have worked closely with INAQ, which has assisted with profitability and pricing models. Kadabra's model is to work with the best in the domain in those projects where we do not possess the core competencies ourselves, or we see that cutting-edge expertise will help to further lift the result.
