Ocein is a technology company that provides solutions to the aquaculture industry. They have extensive experience in the development of ROVs and sink washers. StealthResident is an autonomous note washer that stands firmly in the cage. The solution provides continuous cleaning regardless of weather, reduces infection risk and provides real-time monitoring. In just three months, the idea went from concept to finished prototype, ready to change the standard in aquaculture.
Traditional net washing uses a manually controlled underwater robot that is transported by boat to the cage. To avoid transmission of infection between locations, these sink cleaners must be disinfected between each wash. This type of net washing requires extensive fleet management and planning, and also cannot be carried out in challenging weather conditions.
A location-fixed autonomous sink helps to streamline operations. It can offer continuous washing, eliminates infection problems, is weather independent and can additionally offer continuous monitoring of the condition of the nota.

Kadabra's role in this project has been to lead and implement a development run in close collaboration with Ocein. Effective collaboration and focus on reuse of Ocean's solutions meant that within only three months from the start of the project, we were ready to test a fully functional prototype in water. The project was carried out in close collaboration with Ocein and one of their customers to build on Ocein's long experience in producing robust products for very demanding environments.
The result is a working prototype and product concept that enables new growth within a new product segment for Ocein. As one of the few players, Ocein can offer a product with continuous gentle flushing of the note. In parallel with physical product development, Ocein has run projects where it has developed AI-assisted web inspection. Along with this, the product will contribute to less seine wear and better fish health while ensuring critical incidents will be detected earlier.
